Sharing Non Prescription Color Contacts

I have had people ask if it's okay to share non prescription color contacts.  The answer to that question is always NO!  Non prescription glasses can be shared because there is no prescription and it won't mess up your eyes.  With contacts though it's not okay to share any kind of contacts.  Sharing contacts transfers bacteria from one person to another.  You would never wear someone your friends dirty underwear, even if they are not sick.  Sharing contacts is the same concept.  It can harm your eyes even if the other person isn't sick or doesn't seem to have strange bacteria.

If you are going to wear non prescription color contacts you want to make sure you are always safe first.  Don't buy them from an unreliable source because you don't know how/where they were made and if they are safe to stick in your eye.  Don't share with others, and don't let others use yours.  Do your research and get them from a legit source. Also don't wear them for too long and don't sleep with them in.
